Furry Friends Fur-Ever Tail: Molly and Mary Brown

“With four dogs to look after, my husband and I decided not to get another cat because of our travels south for the winter. But when my husband, who was a veterinarian, passed away over two years ago, my winter residence changed and I remained here full time.

“It was then that I knew I wanted to get a cat again. I was a little apprehensive at first about the dogs since they had never been around cats before, but I was willing to give it a try. I decided to look at rescue cats and started looking through the adoptable cats on the Furry Friends web site.

“Molly caught my eye. And she kept catching my eye (her name was Fiji then). I filled out the adoption papers and arranged a visit. I brought my 5-year-old granddaughter with me for the first meeting, and that clinched the deal! Molly was great with her.

“Now it was time to introduce Molly to the dogs and the dogs to Molly. Over the next several days, I slowly introduced Molly to my two Australian Molly playing with the swiffler mop sweeperShepherds and two Yorkshire terriers. I couldn’t believe how everything went! They got along so well that my thought was, ‘Molly thinks she’s a dog.’

“Her favorite toy is a ‘box.’ Her Mylar balls are in there, and anything else she can carry in her mouth is placed in there as well. It is sheer entertainment at my house. Molly is one of the most loving cats I have ever had in my life.

“Thank you, Furry Friends.”
