Furry Friends Fur-Ever Tail: Romey and Sheri Gonzales

My previous cat, Moby, had been with me for 15 years, and yet Romey won me over and I decided to give her a try.
“I brought her home in a cat carrier, opened the door, and waited to see what she would do. She disappeared under my bed! She would come out to eat and use the litter box, but go right back under the bed. This continued for a couple weeks, and I started to worry that she wouldn’t be happy here. Then, suddenly, she warmed up, became very chatty, and decided that she liked me and her new home!

“I renamed her Romey (for Romeo, because she was so loving). She’s really opened up, becoming even more loving and full of character. She likes family events where she gets lots of pets and even ‘joins in’ the conversation.

“She has a spot on the windowsill where she loves to sit and watch all the happenings in the neighborhood. Then, when it’s bedtime, she sleeps with me. It doesn’t matter where on the bed — she simply has to touch me in some way. It’s so sweet and so cozy. She needs her cuddle time, and so do I do.

“We’re a good fit for each other and I’m so glad I took a chance on her. She makes me so happy, my little bundle of fur! She’s the best thing that’s happened in a long, long time!”
