Furry Friends Celebrates #GivingTuesday and Hopes to raise $5,000 for Medical Expenses
This #GivingTuesday, November 27th, Furry Friends will be seeking to raise at least $5,000 for medical expenses for the cats and kittens in our care.
#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, this year’s #GivingTuesday will take place on November 27th and will kick off the giving season by inspiring people to collaborate and give back.
Furry Friends is a no-kill cat rescue, which means that we spend a lot of money to take care of medical issues for the cats. In 2017 we spent over $65,000 to take care of the medical needs of 200 cats in our care. Currently, we have been nursing 10 kittens from a hoarding situation back to health, which is a very costly process. We anticipate spending $10,000 on these kittens. Read more here about the kittens.
