Local Cat Rescue to Host “Endless PAWsibilities” ONLINE Auction

Furry Friends is hosting its 3rd annual spring online auction fundraiser. The festivities will begin at 8:00 AM on Friday, March 25 and will end on Sunday, March 27 at 8:00 PM. Items will continue to be loaded until the actual auction begins on March 25. You can preview the items at https://www.32auctions.com/endlesspawsibilities but you will not be able to place any bids until March 25th .

The auction’s name ‘Endless PAWsibilities’ is to bring attention to Kitten Season. Spring time is when love is in the air and we start to see "kitten season" kick into full swing. We anticipate performing over 400 spay/neuters this year to help the cat population in our community. The funds from this online auction will go toward the over $25,000 cost of spay/neuter services Furry Friends is projecting and help to cover extraordinary medical expenses for cats that need that extra TLC to get them into a loving home. You will be able to view items ahead of time and on March 25 th you can start the bidding on your favorite items from the safety of your own home.

Donations to the auction from local businesses and generous individuals include art, gift baskets, pet and personal items, handmade gifts and much more.

A Happy Ending to a Hoarding Situation

Furry friends receives all kinds of requests for help, some of these include properties that have been overrun by our feline friends. This can start with 2 cats and good intentioned owners. All it takes is for the cats to not be spayed/neutered and it can turn into a 30 cat hoard. Many times in these situations the cats cannot be cared for properly and start to decline in health. The owners don’t know what to do and are scared to ask for help because they don’t want to get in trouble with animal control. Furry friends has helped many of these situations and saved the lives of many cats.

One Lucky Cat

Hunter came to us as an injured stray that was most likely dumped on someone’s property. He was in very poor shape. He had teeth broken off and the roots exposed, sores and cuts all over his feet, dehydrated, and very scared. After he was healed enough for his dental and neuter he ended up having an after neuter complication (which can happen when cats are too active after surgery) and he had to have another surgery to remove some infected tissues called a scrotal ablation.
