“We adopted Aster the day she was born and it was love at first sight,” Wendy says. “When she was little, she would chase me around all day, so determined was she to ‘nurse.’

“She was just what our other cat Oscar needed since his two feline friends had passed away within a year of each other leaving him alone. He wouldn’t leave the bedroom for months before Aster entered his world. Now she’s not only his beloved companion, she’s his guide, reminding him when to eat (he could, all too easily, exist solely on treats) and playing with him more than we’ll ever know.

“Not as snuggly as she once was, Aster is sweetest in the morning when she’s ready to be fed, and she isn’t shy about waking us up for breakfast. In fact, her favorite time to be petted is at mealtimes! For such a small kitty, she has a large appetite, always eating as if she’s starving, and only eating Sheba wet cat food.

“Having grown into an independent young miss, she loves chasing bugs, warming herself wherever the sun’s rays are, and playing with toys, carrying them up the stairs and knocking them down again. She particularly enjoys batting around wadded up balls of paper, is a great fan of lying on catnip toys, and likes sleeping under our TV stand or in her snuggle nest in our living room at night.
