“Chomper was the seventh addition to our family,” Jaimie explains. “Since then, we’ve added two more kitties for a total of nine!

“Appropriately named for the way that she ‘chomps’ on everything, we naturally kept her original name. She even has her own Instagram account chomper.roo., while several of her nicknames include li’l Chomp, Chomperoo and Chomp Chomp.

“As soon as I met her and she jumped up on my back, I knew she was my cat. Something about her just spoke to me. And it was clearly mutual because her adjustment to living with us was immediate. It was as if she had always been a part of our family and she fit in with all of our other pets right away. Although she gets along with our assorted cats and dogs, she much prefers people to animals.

“I look forward to seeing my little Chomp Chomp when I get home from work, knowing she’ll always be ready for a snuggle. She likes to give hugs and she’ll let you hold her as long as you want.

“While she likes feather toys and catnip, she’s really a quiet cat who just prefers observing everyone most of the time. Not to mention being petted and cuddled – she could live on a steady diet of cuddles and pets!

“I call her our ‘kangaroo/twisty cat’ because her front legs are shorter than they should be due to a birth defect. This unique feature makes her frequently stand up on her back legs like a Meerkat or Prairie Dog. She can’t jump off high places because she’ll land on her face and wisely chooses lower spots instead.

“Chomper sleeps on my pillow every night. I frequently wake up to find her on my face, but I don’t mind since she’s so snuggly. She sleeps through the night without getting up once and snores like a fully-grown man!”
