“My husband John and I REALLY wanted a cat while we were still living in Alabama,” explains Anna Michelle. “But we knew that we were likely going to move within the year, and so we patiently waited until moving and getting established in our new home.

“Once we were fully settled in Vancouver, we decided that we were finally ready. We spent a lot of time looking at rescue sites online at all of their available kittens. Then, one day I sent the picture I had found of Doug (then named Dandelion) to John and we instantly agreed that we wanted to meet him. He was amazingly photogenic with golden eyes and a stunning striped coat.

“After meeting Doug at Furry Friends we knew instantly that he was a match for us. We went on several big shopping trips to prepare for his coming home, and we were beyond excited to finally be getting a cat.

“Since then, we’ve had SO MUCH fun with Doug! He’s definitely the light of our lives and the undisputed center of attention in our household, not to mention the subject of all of our photos. He enjoys endless hours of playtime each evening, and takes full advantage of the many climbing and naps spots we’ve set up for him. Not only is he the most playful kitty, he’s also the most loving and snuggly, always eager to give us extra cuddles after breakfast each morning.

“His favorite activities include bird watching from his window seat, climbing on his new wall hammock, and chasing his favorite fish shaped toys. We’re beyond excited to have years of loving and caring for Doug ahead. He’s truly the best cat in the world.”
