“Emmy isn’t our first kitty,” says Lloyd. “We’ve had several cats over the years.”
“We chose her because she’s a bit older — as are we. We weren’t certain if we could keep up with a frisky kitten. After having spent a few months at the shelter, she was understandably wary at first, and her adjustment to living in our home was gradual. But once she adapted, she quickly ruled the house!
“The best part of having Emmy here has been watching her get comfortable in her surroundings and warm up to us. Only moderately energetic, she enjoys limited playtime with toys, especially wand toys with delightfully dangly attachments on them.
“She may have been slightly standoffish in the beginning, but she’s certainly not shy any more about seeking us out when she wants to be petted or to simply sit on our laps. She especially enjoys rolling over onto her back whenever she wants to be rubbed and scratched with the back scratcher.
“And while she prefers sleeping in her own bed most of the time, she occasionally joins us in our bed for awhile – which we love!”
