“Andrew and I have never had a cat together, but we grew up around them at our family’s homes,” Myriah explains.
“One very smoky day during the fires in August of 2022, we heard a small kitten crying close to our house. We decided not to intervene at first, but when several hours went by and the crying became more frequent and more terrified, we brought in this tiny male kitten and bottle fed him until the wonderful people at Furry Friends took him in the next day.
“Although he was in their expert care under the name of Maltshake, when we adopted him, we changed his name to Finn Boughton — as he definitely does not look like a Maltshake.
“Finn gradually adjusted to his two chihuahua roommates, Halley and Scootchie, although his favorite pastime is sitting in the window and watching all the little critters go by. He’s also fully leash trained and enjoys his walks on sunny days, leaping through the grass at any bugs that get too close.
“While he has many toys, nothing is better than the ‘business end’ of a stick for him to chase and bite as we drag it across the ground, then up and down his cat trees. Finn enjoys playtime with everyone in our house and with anyone who visits us, and he especially enjoys those squeezable treats for cats and what I call his ‘crinkly ball.’
“He loves to be scrubbed under the chin and right between the eyes, while his favorite sleeping spot is in our living room on hot days and right on top of us on cold days.”
