Black beauty Jersey and marmalade-striped Johnny are the family’s first cats, chosen, explains Caroline, because they were so sweet when they met them — especially Jersey.

“While Jersey warmed up immediately, Johnny took his time, but over the course of many play sessions, he grew increasingly more comfortable with us. Our hearts are so full with these two in our lives! Jersey lives to cuddle. It’s usually the first thing he seeks out every morning and evening. Johnny is more of a ‘secret snuggle bug.’ He avoids advances, but if we let him make the first move, he’ll approach us for cuddles and pets.

“Although they both love playing with toys, Johnny has a special fondness for blue feather toys whereas Jersey loves anything that drags across the floor. What makes us laugh is when Johnny’s about to charge a toy, he wiggles his butt right before ‘take off’. As for Jersey, he purrs like a motorboat.

“Then, when it’s time to call it a day, the two of them usually curl up together and sleep in the cat tree.”
