“After picking up stakes and settling in Oregon, the first thing I did was start looking for cats,” explains Annahid. “I knew that I wanted adults because I would be at work most of the day, and I also knew that I wanted two cats so they could keep each other company.

“I was pretty sure I wanted another Siamese mix, but my cousin had a Maine Coon I absolutely adored! I was going back and forth, trying to decide what to do, when I saw Zero and Luna on the Furry Friends website and fell in love. I hadn’t even dared to consider finding a bonded pair of cats that included a Siamese mix AND a Maine Coon, and messaged Furry Friends immediately. I remember being impressed with the questions on their application, and found the whole process very straightforward.

“I drove three and half hours the day after my final move-in to meet them. Luna, the Maine Coon, was more outgoing at first, but I knew that Siamese could be more reticent and figured Zero would warm up in time. After a very long drive home, they walked out of their carriers into my apartment with total calm and set up shop immediately. It took them about three weeks to get totally used to the sounds of people coming up the stairs, but other than that, the transition was remarkably seamless.

“Luna was lovely, outgoing, and ‘really weird’ from day one. Her favorite thing to do is lick plastic bags. She just can’t get enough of them. She’s also a fiend for the laser pointer, and has a fantastic time killing any flies that dare enter our place. Zero is less interested in toys, and just really wants whatever Luna has. He’s happiest when I’m taking a nap so that he can lie on my shoulder and purr incredibly loudly.

“I can’t thank you enough for bringing Luna and Zero into my life. I adore them and they’ve made my life so much better. I’ve recommended you to everyone, and I’m so happy to have these lovely animals in my home.”
