“In August 2022, we adopted Pancho (formerly Pony Boy), the newest member of our young family,” Zane says. “He’s our second kitty, and almost a year younger than our first kitty, Kuzco. An indomitable duo, they became best friends instantly. Not only do they love to wrestle and cuddle and cause mischief equally, Kuzco also loves licking Pancho attentively, and it’s no secret that they adore each other.

“A very affectionate kitty, Pancho seeks out pets frequently or is completely content just to be nearby. Oftentimes, we hear quite the ‘purr’ storm reverberating through the house and we’ll turn to see him simply watching us, happy as a clam, his eyes half open.

“His favorite ‘toy’ is his brother Kuzco, but he also loves his cat springs — specifically the green ones — more than any other toys. Not to mention the fact that the laser pointer drives him into a furry frenzy as well. And although he usually likes including Kuzco in his fun, he’s always excited to play regardless of whether Kuzco joins him or not.

“Pancho is a very ‘puffy’ little guy, and it makes him look gargantuan! He especially loves cuddling with us and having his big fluff brushed. An amateur bird watcher, he’s elated to see birds outside our windows (he does, however, often mistake light refractions on the ceiling for birds), and he delights in chirping at them.

“Rarely far from his family, he may not fall asleep with us, and yet he’s almost always fast asleep at the end of the bed around 3 AM. Sarah and I love Pancho dearly, maybe even more than Kuzco loves him, and we are eternally grateful to Furry Friends and their network of dedicated kitty lovers.”
