“Ruby and Emmie (formerly Eva and Echo) aren’t my first cats,” explains Cindy. “I’ve had cats since I was five years old.
“Most recently, my cats were Libby and Dallas who were much loved throughout their lives. Libby passed on two years ago and Dallas followed a few months ago. I waited awhile, not sure that I could go through the loss of another beloved pet. But I missed having a cat in my life too much.
“When a friend of mine recommended Furry Friends, I looked at the kittens available and fell in love with Eva (now Ruby), an adorable tuxedo kitty with a soul patch on her chin. I visited her at her foster home and we hit it off right away. While I was there, I asked her foster mom if she had bonded with any of her siblings.
“She didn’t think so at the time, but to my delight, I soon learned that she’d bonded with her sister, Echo (now Emmie). I ended up adopting both of them and I’m so happy I did.
“They fill my life with such joy. They love playing with me and with each other. The challenging part is when they both want cuddles at the same time! I’ve learned to pet them simultaneously and they both get in my lap and sleep with me at night.
“Right now, a toy is anything they can get their paws on. They especially love the lid of the juice container. They also have a favorite furry mouse toy.
“To me, they’re the best company imaginable, and adopting them both was the best decision I’ve ever made.”
