“I’ve adopted three kittens from Furry Friends over the years and fortunately they, along with my two other kitties have bonded into one happy feline family,” says Claire. “While I adopted Gumdrop (now Shazam and the one with the SOFTEST fur) in 2019, last year I adopted Snoodle (now Suki) and Sebastian (now Sokka).

“I originally intended to just adopt Suki, but she was such an absolute joy and angel, helping me cope with some extremely difficult times that when the opportunity arose to meet one of her siblings, I didn’t hesitate. I was so smitten was Sokka’s adventurous and playful personality that I adopted him as well, taking him home a day later!

“My kitties have brought me immense joy and love. When I lost my grandfather to a brain tumor and had to endure a series of tragic family problems and losses, it seemed as if they were my sole source of sunshine for a while. I can’t imagine not having these fur balls in my life.

“Of the five kitties, Shazam, Suki and Sokka are by far the friendliest and most active. I would even say impish and mischievous. Both Suki and Sokka LOVE the cat laser! They’ll run and chase it until they’re panting like dogs! Shazam is more traditional and likes to chase robes and feather toys. My daughters run laps with him through the living room. Of course, the three of them love catnip and take great delight in digging through blankets to find it.

“Sokka’s true claim to fame, though, is his passion for green beans! He gladly steals the green beans that I harvest from my garden! He used to play fetch with his stuffed kitten, but not so much anymore. Now it’s all about the green beans.

“As the weather cools, they especially enjoy cuddling and snuggling and keeping me compauy. Suki will even sit on my neck and shoulders while I cook breakfast or climb on my back as I bend over to pick things up. She’s definitely a princess who loves being brushed and scratched. Good thing too, because she has long tufts of fur under her armpits and on the backs of her legs that need brushing. Sokka will just climb up my leg if I’m not careful.

“Since they all sleep in my bedroom, they’ll meow to wake us up when they get cold. We immediately raise the covers and allow them to climb into bed with us. Any kitty left out will go to the girls’ rooms and climb up into their loft beds.

“We love our Furry Friends babies!”
