“I adopted Mouse now called Stanley Hudson from ‘The Office’ on January 24th, 2022. I named him that because he had a grumpy looking face. Lol!
“He is the best decision I ever made. I lost my ginger baby Duke of 16 years on December 5th, 2021. The pain, honestly, was unbearable, and my remaining cat Lena, also adopted from Furry Friends, was devastated. Although I knew it was too soon to adopt another cat, hearing Lena cry and cry and call for him was breaking my heart. They were bonded.
“Stanley was very shy and scared when I first got him. I chose another feral cat because my home is very quiet, I’m very patient, and he could adapt here at his own pace. His foster parents said he had the potential to be a lap cat and they were right! After five days, he had already warmed up. Lena, who is 12 years old, tolerates him, but sometimes his energy is too much for her. Frankly, I think she’s just playing hard to get because they chase each other very late at night, every night. It’s rare to catch them close together, but whenever I can, I take their pictures.
“Stanley has quite the personality! He’s smart, quirky, hyper, sweet and incredibly loving. I’m 35 years old, have had more cats then I can count, and yet this is my first lap cat. I’m so beyond grateful to Furry Friends. You gave me the most incredible gift. He’s better than anything I could have imagined. He came into my life when I needed him the most and changed it completely.
“Since I have no children, my cats are everything to me. I couldn’t live without them – or him — now. He fit in so swiftly and so smoothly. I tell myself everyday how blessed I am. Thank you, Furry Friends, and thanks to all of your amazing volunteers. Your kitties are the best!”
