“Tecate (formerly Cognac) is my first cat and I love him so much,” says Sara. “He’s made me happier than I could ever have imagined and I’m lucky to have him in my life.
“We recently celebrated his first birthday and I look forward to celebrating many more birthdays with this little cutie. He’s also been leash/harness trained, allowing us to go on walks together outside, which is so much fun!
“When I first met him, I fell in love with his stumped tail and his energetic personality, and I felt that he adjusted immediately to his new home. He was very adventurous and couldn’t wait to explore more of the apartment. I wasn’t expecting him to warm up to me so quickly and when he did, it was a very pleasant surprise.
“I suffer from anxiety and have depressive symptoms which can make getting through the day pretty tough, but Tecate is always here for me and helps with many of those symptoms.
“He’s very keen on playing with his spring toys and his bird teaser toy, and hiding in paper bags. As affectionate as he is active, he LOVES being held and adores having his chin scratched. He’ll often meow at me if he wants to be picked up and carried around. I think of him as a total mama’s boy!
“Two of his sweet/silly quirks are his fondness for chirping at the birds outside our window and sometimes napping in the bathtub. And speaking of napping …during the day, he naps almost anywhere in the apartment, but at night he curls up next to my feet at the end of my bed.”
