Furry Friends Governance
Our mission is to rescue the abandoned, the abused, and the forgotten. We specialize in cat hoarding situations, strays, neonates, and medical cases while providing clean living conditions, medical care, and an enriching environment full of love and care until adoption.
2024 is our 25th year serving Clark, Cowlitz & Skamania Counties, and just this year so far, we have helped over 2,000 cats and kittens!
Due to overpopulation, many homeless cats are currently euthanized in the state of Washington. We assist other local groups to accomplish a no-kill status by educating, spaying and neutering, and rehoming cats.
*For transparency: no-kill status is a save rate of 90% and above. We advocate for no unnecessary euthanasia for situations like: space, age, certain illness and behaviors. If a cat has a terminal illness or poor quality of life that cannot be remedied, then humane euthanasia should be considered.
Furry Friends has a small staff consisting of the Executive Director and two Shelter Managers to facilitate day to day operations and direct care. We are governed by The Board of Directors which oversees the organizations overall operations to ensure we are operating in a responsible manner that furthers our mission. We report our financial information annually to the Internal Revenue Service by filing Form 990. Furry Friends is careful to adhere to the rules of the IRS. Founded in 1999, we are supported by monetary and in-kind donations.

Furry Friends is proud to be a member of the Washington Federation of Animal Care and Control Agencies!
The Federation strives and advocates for the humane treatment of animals in WA State through legislation, training, sundry programs, and various support services. In addition, they work hard to reduce the number of unwanted, lost, and neglected companion animals in the state.
