Hyacinth and Darian Hageman: Furry Friends Fur-Ever Tail

“My partner, Elijah Covitch, and I adopted Hyacinth from Furry Friends in March of 2024,” Darian says. “Although we ‘technically’ kept her name, we call her either Cinny or Miss Cinnygirl!

“She was separated from the other cats when we first saw her, but she was so pretty, and she seemed like such a sweet girl who just needed some people to love her. She adjusted pretty quickly when we brought her home and immediately found her safe spots around our home, one of her favorites being right in the middle of Elijah’s pillow in our bedroom.

“She is not the biggest fan of being picked up and held, but she loves to be next to us and cuddle. She especially likes to lie under blankets with us on the couch. When she’s really, really comfy and getting loved on, she drools and it’s adorable!

“We ended up taking in a kitten in July and set him up in a separate room for a few weeks and slowly introduced/transitioned them. Cinny was a little wary at first, but now they are two peas in a pod. They love sitting together in the window perches and playing together. They especially like when we play with the wand-style toys. They both enjoy sitting and stalking it, and take turns going for it. It’s very cute.

“Cinny is also very fond of boxes and loves to sleep in them. If she’s not sleeping in a box, both she and the kitten will sleep together in their cat tree or every so often sleep in our room with us. Cinny is such a sweet girl, I can’t stress it enough. Even though she’s a little more independent, she LOVES love and we love to love her.”
