“Willow, formerly called Korn, is the first kitty we’ve had since having children,” Theresa explains. “Initially, we were interested in meeting his brother Karmel, but because he had already been adopted by another family, we decided to meet Willow instead.

“When I first met him, he was instantly friendly towards me. He’s gray with black tiger stripes, and is truly a beauty. We adopted him because I thought that he’d get along well with our elementary school-aged kids and I was right! Willow adjusted almost immediately to living in our home.

“He loves sneaking up on us and having us sneak up on him. He also loves playing in his collapsible tube, hunting the butterfly on his cat teaser that spins around and chasing houseflies. You name it and he loves it! He’ll come up and purr when he wants affection. The perfect balance of affectionate and independent, he follows me from room to room in the house, just wanting to be with me while not necessarily snuggling with me.

“When my alarm goes off, he’s ready for some pets and then he promptly follows me downstairs. He loves to sleep in the bathroom sink and will sometimes play in the water when I’m washing my hands. One of his favorite places to go is my mother’s bedroom since it has so much light. He’ll wait patiently until she opens the door and then swiftly sneak inside.

“Most nights, he sleeps curled up at the foot of my bed. Willow adds so much companionship, warmth and humor to our lives every day. And although he doesn’t always want affection from the kids, he plays with them, and they love and adore him, just as I do.”
