Thank You Jason P. Smith
After graduating from Portland State University with a degree in Accounting and Economics, Jason worked for several accounting firms before starting his own firm, Jason P. Smith, CPA, PS in 2003.
For the last 21 years, the company has provided a wide range of professional services to individuals and businesses in a variety of industries. Included in those services are: Tax Services, Assurance and Advisory Services, Bookkeeping/Write-up, QuickBooks, Accounting Help and Assistance, Cash Flow and Budgeting Analysis, Debt and Finance Advising, Accounting Services, IRS Representation, Entity Selection and Restructuring, Payroll Services, Mergers, Acquisitions, and Sales.
“Our mission,” Jason explains, “is to help clients maintain financial viability in the present, while taking a proactive approach to achieve future goals. This requires open communication to reach an understanding of our clients’ needs through research and sound analysis.
“I got involved with Furry Friends because my daughter who loves cats volunteered at the shelter during school. We started volunteering together in 2022. Why, you ask. Mostly because of my own love of cats and because it was an activity to share with my daughter.
Jason, who also has a son, became a Silver Sponsor of Furry Friends in 2022 out of his desire to contribute to us because he was impressed by the wonderful work we do for the cats we rescue, rehabilitate and re-home. Besides being a sponsor, he helps on the Friday night Halfway House shift as well as on alternating Saturday night shifts.
“I find that helping the cats is not only highly rewarding, it’s ‘free therapy!’ It’s a way to give and receive at the same time,” Jason says. “I have also met some great people who are now good friends as well. What’s hard, however, is not being able to do more for the cats. There will always be a need greater than the time I have available. On the other hand, I’m proud of the positive impact Furry Friends makes and of the extraorindary people who run the organization.”
While his daughter currently has two cats at home, Jason would like to eventually foster cats and kittens.
