Frankie and the Harts: Furry Friends Fur-Ever Tail
“Frankie, formerly Firefly, is our first kitty as a couple,” Ali says. “I’ve had cats my whole life while she’s Emerson's first cat.
“We chose Frankie because of her sweet face and unique coat. We also were further encouraged when we met her, and her foster mom described how sweet and snuggly she was. She adjusted pretty well to our home. Initially, she was a little scared, but she simply needed extra snuggles and love to help her become acclimated.
“Frankie adds so much joy, love and fun to our lives. Since cats have always been part of my life, I knew how beneficial and therapeutic their love can be. Emerson now considers himself a cat person and we both just adore her.
“Agile and athletic, Frankie loves playing fetch, being chased and playing games of hide and seek. She also loves chasing cat springs and mice and running through her tube. Always affectionate, she loves being petted and cuddled, smooched and held. She’s a busy kitty though, and will quickly let us know if she has better places to be than in our arms!
“Sometimes we wonder if Frankie is even a cat at all! She’s so very silly and so unlike any cat I’ve ever met before. She loves to hang out on our shoulders and watch us cook. She loves playing fetch, going on walks and watching TV in her free time. She also loves playing dead when sleeping on her back. Frankie never fails to keep us laughing or entertained.
“During the day, she sleeps in her window perch or cat tree. At night she sleeps at the tops of our heads so that she’s ready to give us our early morning wake-up licks for breakfast time. If this doesn’t work, she’ll resort to lying on our faces.”
