Zinnia and the Crows: Furry Friends Fur-Ever Tail
“We adopted Zinnia, who was formerly called Clover, because we wanted an affectionate cat,” says Kelly. “At the time she was still in her affectionate phase.
“Although her adjustment to our home was gradual because she was frightened, she did enjoy cuddling. She soon made friends with our other kitties, and now they all get along. Zinnia’s very sweet and well behaved, and we’re patiently accustoming her to being picked up and petted. She’s very independent, though, and likes to be held when she’s in the mood. She doesn’t always want pets like the others, and will simply run off. But when we are able to pet her, she likes it.
“She loves anything that makes noise, especially bells, and has little cat toy mice that she carries around. She also loves to wrestle and torment the other cats! One of Zinnia’s most endearing qualities is her cute little meow. Together, she and one of the other kitties cry and beg for pumpkin puree. And surprisingly, she has a very loud purr.
“She loves to sleep in her heated cat bed. When I work from home, she’ll sleep in her bed in the office. Zinnia has been a great addition to the family, and she LOVES her big sister, Winnifred. We call them Pete and Re-Pete because they’re always together. It’s ironic because Winnifred was very upset when we brought Zinnia home. She stayed under the bed for several days and then quickly discovered that she had a kitty to wrestle with.”
