Natalie Berry Volunteer Spotlight
“I’ve volunteered with Furry Friends since July of 2024,” Natalie says, “and I got involved through following their Facebook page.
“As a stay-at-home mom, I’ve been fostering kittens since the end of July. I love socializing them and learning all about their quirks. I also love getting to have them while they’re little and then I move onto a new batch. It’s the best! Goodbyes are a little hard sometimes, but it’s worth it.
“My biggest challenge is probably litter training kittens! That was the most mess I’ve ever had in my office space! On the other hand, my proudest moments are having all of the kittens we’ve fostered find their forever families quickly and with very smooth transitions.
As to why Natalie gives back? “I love cats and kittens and gain so much from them in return that it hardly feels like giving. Before I started volunteering for Furry Friends, I hung out with my kiddos and my cats, and kept growing my cat family. It was getting too big, so volunteering seemed like the perfect alternative (I have five cats, one kitten (a foster fail) and a dog).
Passionate about LGBTQ+ rights and universal healthcare, Natalie is equally passionate about their children and all animals, enjoys growing plants, and loves crafting and doing fun, colorful puzzles.
