Marlow and the Stevens: Furry Friends Fur-Ever Tail
“We have two older cats from other non-profits in the area: Winston from the Oregon Humane Society (the oldest) and Ellie from Meow Village,” explains Cristin. “And although his name was originally Garfield, after trying out various names, we settled happily on Marlow.
“I kept telling my husband Tanner that I wanted an orange cat after having one growing up. And so, when I saw Marlow’s face on social media, I knew I had to get him. It was an immediate gut feeling that he was meant for us. And his adjustment to our home was instantaneous! While it took the other two cats longer to warm up to him, Marlow was ready to go, and was so excited about meeting his new siblings. Now he won’t leave them alone ... for better or for worse … but his dedication to winning their love is extremely cute.
“Although we had a wide assortment of toys for Winston and Ellie, they always preferred boxes and wrappers and anything that fell on the ground. Marlow, on the other hand, is allllll about the toys! His favorite is what we call ‘Muskrat’ and he drags it everywhere. He also puts it as a ‘gift’ in the other cat bowls.
“Thriving on attention, Marlow is mad about pets and cuddles. My favorite is in the morning when he hears me working and I can hear him make little chirps as he runs up the stairs and sits on my lap. One of his cutest habits is playing ‘go fetch’ like a dog. We toss a toy and he’ll bring it back to us about 10 times before stopping. He also puts his little paw on my arm when he wants a treat from the fridge, and jumps up onto the counter within reach of my arm as if to say, ‘Please give me churu.’ He's the cutest and quirkiest kitty I’ve ever had.”
As for Marlow’s sleeping preferences: “Most of the time, he loves sleeping under the bed, but he snoozes anywhere and everywhere. He’s been such a fun addition to this household, and I’m grateful to those who rescued him. Marlow brings a playful spirit to our world and everyone who meets him gushes about how cute he is. He’s also quite photogenic ... I mean look at this cutie!”
