Teddy and Cassidy Primerano: Furry Friends Fur-Ever Tail

“Teddy, formerly Oscar, is my second kitty since moving in with my boyfriend, Chris,” Cassidy says. “When we visited Furry Friends, we originally went to see two bonded kittens, but after seeing Teddy, we had to have him. Part of the reason we chose Teddy is because he had been at the shelter for many months. No one wanted to adopt him due to his allergies and atopic dermatitis, which results in frequent vet visits and a special diet.

“Teddy adjusted to our home almost immediately. The first night he was home I slept on the couch with him and listened to him purr all night. He’s greatly affected both my life and Chris’s. We’ve committed a lot of time to caring for him, taking him to the dermatologist and finding the right food for his allergies and skin. After having Teddy for six months, we decided to adopt a second cat from Furry Friends to keep Teddy company. Our second cat, Billy, was scared at first but became comfortable after a few days and is now best friends with Teddy.

“Teddy isn’t big on toys. He prefers to play with his brother Billy or just snuggle on the couch with Chris and me. His favorite thing is to be scratched on his chin and cheeks. When he’s not begging for scratches, he’s sitting along the back of the couch cushions or lying in bed alone.

“Teddy is such a sweet kitty and I know we made the right decision in adopting him from Furry Friends.”
